A Grounded Journey in Music

Elizabeth Vengoechea
I'm Elizabeth Vengoechea — a pianist based in Southern California with over a decade of playing experience. I earned my MTAC Certificate of Merit in February 2025, and I've built my craft around two things: performing locally and helping students grow with patience and structure.
My performance experience includes weddings, church services, fundraisers, Temecula City Hall, and community events in Old Town Temecula. Those real settings have shaped the way I teach students to play with confidence, care, and musical purpose.
Teaching has become one of the most meaningful parts of my musical life. Whether I'm guiding a young beginner through their first notes or helping an adult student finally play the songs they've always loved, every lesson brings me genuine joy.
I believe that exceptional piano instruction is about more than technical proficiency. It's about unlocking each student's unique musical voice, building confidence, and fostering a lifelong appreciation for the art form.

The Pillars of My Approach
Every student who walks through my door is unique, with their own goals, learning style, and musical aspirations. My teaching philosophy honors this individuality while maintaining the highest standards of musical education.
Technical Excellence
Building a strong foundation of proper technique that enables lifelong musical growth and injury-free playing.
Musical Expression
Nurturing each student's unique artistic voice and developing the ability to communicate emotion through music.
Personalized Approach
Recognizing that every student learns differently and tailoring instruction to individual needs, goals, and pace.
Joy in Learning
Maintaining a balance between discipline and enjoyment, ensuring that the love of music remains central to the journey.
The Six Pillars of Every Lesson
Structured enough to build real skill, gentle enough to keep students encouraged. Every lesson balances these six areas — adapted to each student's age, level, and goals.
Music Reading
Confident note-reading on both clefs from day one — the foundation that lets students learn any piece on their own.
Technique
Healthy hand position, finger independence, and posture that prevents injury and unlocks every level of repertoire.
Rhythm & Timing
Steady internal pulse, accurate counting, and a feel for groove — built through clapping, singing, and structured practice.
Musical Expression
Dynamics, phrasing, and tone — the difference between playing the right notes and actually making music.
Repertoire
A balanced mix of classical foundations and student-chosen favorites — pop, film, jazz, hymns — to keep motivation high.
Theory & Ear Training
Scales, chords, intervals, and listening skills woven into every lesson so students truly understand what they play.
What Sets Us Apart
Elizabeth does not rely on a one-size-fits-all approach. She works with young beginners, teens, and adults by adapting each lesson to the student's pace, personality, and goals. The focus is steady progress, healthy technique, and helping students enjoy the music they are learning.
